Major Benefit of Divorce No One Usually ConsidersWhen you file for divorce, there is a certain level of emotion that is hard to shake loose. But once you do, you usually find a world of new opportunities to take advantage of. However, one benefit probably hasn’t come to mind:

Business.

For Orlando stay-at-home mom Tiffany Beverlin, divorce was a chance to launch a business that has reaped significant dividends. Called DreamsRecycled.com, this is a place where divorcées can sell assets from past relationships, “using the money from selling diamonds or wedding gowns to finance their new dreams,” noted the Orlando Sentinel.

Beverlin had the idea fresh off her own divorce. She had a dream about unsuccessfully trying to liquidate her 2.5-carat ring.

Once she awakened, she wondered: “Why keep going into your closet and seeing your wedding dress there? Why go into your jewelry box and see your wedding ring?”

“We try to focus on the positive aspects of moving on,” she added.

The Positive Aspects Of Divorce

Beverlin has the right idea. A lot of hurt comes with filing divorce papers, even in some cases of online divorce. But there’s always a silver lining. For instance:

  • You have a clearer idea of what makes you happy. You’re no longer obligated to a toxic relationship.
  • Financially, you don’t have to worry about as much.
  • You can do things that may not have been practical while married. (Like start a business.)

There are many more, but taking a cue from Beverlin, the one we’d like to come back to using your personal experience. When you survive a divorce, you do so with a new set of experiences intact. Beverlin used hers to start a successful business. You could do the same or redirect that ambition to personal causes that make you feel passionate.

Either way, if it’s handled correctly, you’ll emerge a happier and more fulfilled human being than you’ve ever been. You just have to give yourself permission to grow, and the rest will fall into place.

If you’re going through a divorce, or have been, best of luck to you, and feel free to share your experiences with us in the comments section.
